BWP is launching a first: the BWP Elite Foal Auction, an online studio auction that will take place on July 5th. BWP vice-chairman Boudewijn Schepers outlines the context: “When people talk about foals and foal auctions, it is very often about the dam line becoming increasingly important. And then you are quickly talking about BWP elite mares and BWP dam lines. That is why we are launching the first BWP Elite Foal Auction as a studbook.” Boudewijn, together with Kurt Asselberghs, selected 23 foals from top lines/elite dams.

The collection includes several foals that even have Olympic performance blood in their pedigrees. The colt Voncetti de Brandegem is a nice example of this. This son by Foncetti VD Heffinck belongs to BWP dam line 11 via his dam Oh Mammy Blue de Brandegem. Oh Mammy Blue’s granddam, Opaline des Pins, produced the Olympic horses Jus De Pomme, Quintus and Tresor.

Out of the proven BWP dam line 14 a filly by Conthargos out of a full sister to Hello M’Lady (5*, Scott Brash), Fajoecha (1m45 level) and the approved, promising sports stallion Inaico VDL (Jur Vrieling) is for sale. The filly is called Vega AEG.

The dam line of Cordula de Laubry, one of the best breeding dams in the world, should of course not be missing from the auction collection. The foal that is being auctioned out of this BWP line 22 is called Vasco du Cozar, a colt by the progenitor Catoki. Vasco’s granddam, Uganda de Laubry, is the dam of Cordula de Laubry and produced the international performers Quintus and Calimero de Laubry. Cordula produced 6 showjumpers from the 1m60 circuit: Fantomas, Igor and Lord de Muze, Global Equinta, Komeet and Lector VD Bisschop.

It is not easy to get the opportunity to buy a foal from the Olympic champion Baloubet du Rouet, let alone combined with a BWP dam line. You can buy such a foal during the BWP Elite Foal Auction, thanks in particular to Valoubreaker-M. The dam of this colt, Edelheart-M, has already produced Berlinbreaker M (1m50 level) and Herlinbreaker M (1m45 level) and belongs to line 32.

If you want to buy a filly from the performance line of Via Volo VD Molendreef (1m60 level, Elizabeth Beezie Madden), the approved sports stallion Gigolo VD Molendreef (2 and 3*) and international performers such as Qadance, Ad Fundum, Every Way and Mia Volo VD Molendreef should definitely make an offer for Valencia VD Molendreef (by Warrior), a pearl from BWP line 49.

Victory van ’t Heike is fully bred ‘van ’t Heike’ by the late Karel Boonen. Her sire is Epleaser van ’t Heike (5*, Christian Ahlmann), her dam Chiquita van ’t Heike (BWP dam line 62). Chiquita’s granddam, Tiqilla van den Berg, jumped successfully at GP level and produced Chelana and Damira, amongst others.

BWP line 100, the proven breeding family of Usha van ’t Roosakker, is represented 3 times in this auction, in particular via Vicci VD Berghoeve, Vienna VGW and Valona VD Bisschop. Vicci VD Berghoeve is a son by the promising Piece of Cake M out of the 5-year-old Katusha Hero. Katusha’s sire, Kassander van ’t Roosakker, was successful in partnership with Dieter Laheyne and Grégory Wathelet and is a full brother to the 5* Grand Prix horse Kaprice van ’t Roosakker (5*, Kent Farrington). Vicci’s granddam jumped at 1m50 level under the saddle of Melanie Gelin and has been ridden by Harrie Smolders for a few months now.

Vienna VGW is a daughter of the progenitor Diamant de Semilly out of Sibelle VGW, a 3-year-old daughter of Stakkato Gold, a valuable supplier of outstanding showjumpers. Sibelle’s granddam, Ikea van ’t Roosakker, is a full sister to the international performer Horpleasure van ’t Roosakker and produced L’Esprit Hero (1m60 level, Dermott Lennon) and Lexicon II van ’t Roosakker (1m50 level).

Valona VD Bisschop also carries the proven performance blood of Usha van ’t Roosakker. Valona is a filly by Balou du Reventon (5*, Darragh Kenny) out of Jackpot van ’t Hagenhof (at the BC in Gesves as a 4-year-old champion and as a 5-year-old finalist). Valona’s granddam, Grand Cru van ’t Hagenhof, produced the international showjumpers Kipling, Fabio and Frauke van ’t Hagenhof. Grand Cru is also a full sister to Giorgio van ’t Hagenhof (1m50 to 1m60 level) and is a daughter of the top sports dam Babbe van ’t Roosakker.

Stam 107 is represented by Vicaro van het Zevenvindel. This line guarantees horses with a lot of blood and a good mentality, as witnessed by Domino van de Middelstede, Torinto van de Middelstede and even the Olympic horse Grand Cru van de Rozenberg. Vicaro is a son of the successful sports stallion Escape out of Latina van het Zevenvindel, a Nabab de Rêve daughter who performed at 1m40 level.

And what about Vancouver de Tiji? He is a son of the 5* showjumper Grandorado TN. Through his dam line, Vancouver goes back to Carlina, with whom Pius Schwizer was successful at the very highest level, including the 12th place at the London Olympics and 2nd place in the prestigious Aachen GP.

In the filly Vendetta Dwerse Hagen a fantastic sports dam is also closely anchored in the pedigree. Vendetta is filly by Pegase van ’t Ruytershof (BWP champion, winner of the Young Stallion Award and of the stallion competition) out of Ultra Precious who in turn is a daughter of Cadjanine, a dam who performed at the highest level, in partnership with Rodrigo Pessoa, Grégory Wathelet and Patrik Spits.

Vadrillo “S”, a colt by Ducati van Schuttershof, also has a top sports mare in his dam line. We are talking about the dam Krisia with whom Marc Van Dijck caused a furore in the international showjumping circuit. The dam of Vadrillo “S”, Hippa, is a half-sister to Uncas S who jumps at international 1m50 to 1m60 level.

In the case of Viper Lady M, who belongs to BWP line 115, the international sports dam is even closer in the pedigree. After all, she is a direct daughter of Chablie, who jumped at international five-star level under the saddle of Vicky Van de Poel. The granddam of Chablie is a full sister to City Banking (including 11th individual at the Olympic Games in Atlanta). The promising Piece of Cake M is the sire of Viper Lady M.

A foal that is also very closely related to an international showjumper is Valentino van Heiste (BWP line 110). The colt has the same sire as Koss van Heiste. And there’s even more: Valentino’s granddam is the dam of Koss van Heiste, a Breemeersen Adorado son who, ridden by Conor Swail, has consistently won prizes at top international showjumping classes.

The BWP champion Pegase van ’t Ruytershof has another descendant in the collection, namely Vonk van de Maltahoeve. Vonk’s dam, Indira, is a full sister to Bethsabee VD Maltahoeve (5*, Keean White and the dam of the brand-new BWP champion Socrates VD Bosdam) and Azucar VD Maltahoeve (5*, Robert Whitaker). GCT-showjumper Fara VD Maltahoeve, World Cup horse Habibi van de Maltahoeve and the performer Kismet van de Lentakker also belong to this BWP lineage 116.

Who knows Kismet, ex-Benedicte? In partnership with Candice S King and Meredith Michaels Beerbaum, this daughter by Kannan jumped successfully at international five-star level, including Grands Prix, Nations Cups and World Cup classes. It is precisely from Kismet herself that one can buy a descendant in this BWP Elite Foal Auction, namely Vuitton EH, a son by the 5* performer Don VHP.

There is another son for sale by Don VHP, namely Vino van ’t Zorgvliet (BWP dam line 81). Vino’s granddam, Contesse van ’t Zorgvliet, produced the outstanding showjumper For Joy van ’t Zorgvliet (5*, Kevin Staut), Goldfee van ’t Zorgvliet and the BWP approved stallion Oberon van ’t Zorgvliet. Contesse is a full sister to Doree van ’t Zorgvliet (an approved stallion who performed at 1m50 level) and is also the dam of the auction foal Vitas van ’t Zorgvliet (by Nixon van ’t Meulenhof, 5*, Harrie Smolders).

Thanks to Vainqueur van den Bosdam one can buy a colt by a BWP champion, being Quatre Mai-L. Vainqueur’s granddam, Nantelle van T&L, performed at 1m45 level last year and is a half-sister to the BWP approved stallion Philemon van T&L. Nantelle’s granddam, Nikita, is the icing on the cake as she is actually the dam of the top progenitor/BWP ambassador Toulon and the BWP elite stallion Vancouver d’Auvray.

Anyone who dreams of buying a descendant of Chacco-Blue from the famous ‘van Klapscheut’ dynasty can make this dream come true by buying Vino VD Bisschop. Vino is a descendant of BWP line 109, a dam line that is known for a top attitude, competition mentality and showjumping qualities. Coriana, Farah, Fenia, Fenom, Blendy, Koriana, Goriana, Indiana, Irco, Ironman and Koriano van Klapscheut are all international performers who belong to this very strong performance dam line. And this top blood combined with number 1 in the sire ranking for the best suppliers of showjumpers worldwide: what are you waiting for?

BWP dam line 19 is represented by Vera-Linn VD Bokke, a filly by the GP sports stallion Leandro VG out of the 6-year-old Piadora VD Bokke. Piadora’s dam produced the international showjumper Nazarine VD Bokke and Piadora’s granddam produced the approved stallions Star Pleasure Mispelaere and Verdi van de Bokke.

From the brand-new BWP Young Stallion Award winner and promising sports stallion Ermitage Kalone one can buy a filly that makes part of the BWP lineage 95, called Venus van Moretus. This line includes international showjumpers (such as Apache, Farinelli and Jaguar van Paemel), as well as several approved stallions, amongst them Gigolo, Inshallah, Jaguar and Kirr-Royal van Paemel.
