At the end of the Third Phase of the BWP Stallion Approval, the final of the Stallion Competition was also scheduled on Saturday.
The 6yo category was fully dominated by BWP horses. Pieter Kenis won the class with the BWP approved stallion Nector vd Bisschop. Nector is a son of Echo van 't Spieveld out of a Darco dam. He was bred by Tom De Craene and stands at stud at Janssens-Verheyden.
Ellen Geilfus ended second in the saddle of the BWP registered Nashville vd Kleinheide. The third place was for Frederik Dekens and the BWP approved stallion Chaiton F. Jorik Vervoort ended in fourth place with the BWP registered Nanteuil van T&L. The BWP approved Narengo STB and Jorik Vervoort took the fifth place. Wim Aegten was sixth with the BWP approved Newton van 't Zorgvliet.
In the 7yo category, Jan Vermeiren was victorious with the BWP registered stallion Mr. Uno-K van 't Kattenheye, a Numero Uno x Kannan combination, bred by Tony and Annemarie Raman-Strobbe. Guy Beyers placed third with the BWP approved stallion Mithras de Regor (Elvis ter Putte x Darco); breeder : Veldeman Family; stud holders : JV-horses - G. Beyers - J. De Brabander.
Mithras was also the winner of the final ranking of the 7-year-olds in the Stallion Competition, a fantastic result, for in that way he equals his last year's performance! Furthermore, also Narengo STB in the 6yo category and Dida Di Darco in the 5yo series became the final ranking winners. Surprisingly, all these stallions have been sold via the BWP Top Stallion Auction!
